What is an adjective
An adjective qualifies (or describes) a noun. That means that an adjective tells us about a thing or a person.
- The tall woman.
- The difficult project.
- The book is interesting.
Comparing Adjectives
- He is bigger than me.
- That was a more interesting presentation than the last one.
- That was our best year so far.
- That was the most imaginative solution I’ve seen.
These are the rules for comparing adjectives:
Adjectives with one syllable

nice | nicer | the nicest |
green | greener | the greenest |
Adjectives with two syllables ending in -y, – er, -le and -ow

All other adjectives with two or more syllables
