Foodies – People who love food and love eating
You can tell who are foodies on social media as they post many pictures of food!
Cuisine – A style or way of cooking
My favourite cuisine is Asian as they use a lot of ingredients which are very good for your health.
Stalls – A stand or compartment selling products in a large area
In Europe, you can now find many stalls selling different types of foods in a food hall.
Campaign – an organised action to reach a goal or objective
The election campaign was very exciting this year, with many political parties really fighting to win.
Vendors – A person or company offering something for sale
You no longer see many street vendors in Europe selling their products n the streets, but they are still very common in Asia.
Omit – To leave out or exclude
We will omit him from the 2nd round of interviews as he isn’t the best person for the job.
MSG – Monosodium Glutamate which is a flavouring salt.
Instant noodles have a lot of MSG, which is why the small packet of flavouring add so much taste to the soup.
No wonder – Not surprising
It’s no wonder he was fired as he came late to work everyday for a month!
Establishment – A business organisation or public institution
Many hotel establishments suffered a lot due during the pandemic.
Queuing up – forming a line
You often see children not queuing up for the ski lifts and they just go ahead of everyone.
The early bird catches the worm – A proverb that means that those who start to do something earlier, will have more advantage over others.
