Language for different cultures
Here is some key language you can use to communicate with the 2 different cultures. As mentioned in the previous article, we should try to consider the individual person’s background, if we know it, or let the other person take the lead, if you are not sure.
Some ideas for building relationships with peaches. You can be a little more informal.
– Include some small talk:
I hope you are well.
I hope the sun is shining in the UK.
What’s the weather like in Chicago?
It’s pouring with rain here.
– Take an interest in your partner:
How are things with you?
How did your meeting go yesterday?
How was your holiday?
– Give positive personal feedback
I really liked your presentation.
Thanks for the input, it was really helpful.
– Communicate how you feel
I’m really happy with the way the project went.
I was delighted that the order arrived on time.
I’m looking forward to seeing you next week.
– Use the language of emotion
I’ll be pleased to help you with this problem.
I appreciate the time you have taken.
I hope I’ll be able to find a solution this week.
I see what you mean and I can appreciate your worries.
– Include personal stories
It’s a really beautiful day here and I’m looking forward to going to the beer garden after work.
