Session 4 – Giving Feedback (January 12)
Discussion:
What is one of the most challenging work issues that you or someone you know has had?
Please take a few minutes to write down a difficult work situation. We will use this example at the end of our feedback discussions to practice give effective and constructive feedback.
What is your ‘gut feeling’ response to this situation when it comes to giving a response?
We will compare the ‘gut feeling’ responses with the more prepared responses at the end of the lessons.
Simon: training of new colleagues with home-office situation is difficult
Jochen: the current price increase situation. We made the 3rd price increase in the last half year. There are a lot of customers who are very understanding about that and customers who react angry and deny the price increase.
Martina:The EU has imposed anti-dumping on goods from China. We now have to deliver all the goods from stock, their from China.
This is a big problem, because the customer must of course also pay for the goods immediately. For customers who have a logistic system from us, we manage the parts , so normally we have them
On stock and then deliver when they are needed.
Another problem is that we sometimes receive the goods from China only in 2-3 months.
When we deliver these goods then deliver them to German customers, we have to pay 98% penalty duty….
The supply must be guaranteed, we have to look for new suppliers outside China.
It’s very big problem.
Daniela: Due to the company mergers, all units will gradually work with the same system.
However, since different laws or guidelines apply to the different countries, it will be difficult to display the information for all countries in a useful way.
Daniel: Parental Leave
Pascal: Our Problem is, that the Business Analysts which roll out the new
system in 2019 at KVT Germany now going to the next country (Dänmark)
and roll out there the new system to.
But at the same time the must do the support for our company. That is
to much work for the Business Analysten Team and they can’t handle
both. In the future more and more locations were switch there systems
to the new one and need support too. So the Analyst team had even less
time for us and help us with our problems.
David: My goal is to bring innovation and new products into the Bossard portfolio.
Due to the absence of live meetings with existing or potential suppliers, this is proving to be a challenge for me. In most cases there are only online meetings, so it is not always possible to understand or analyse the ideas presented, as there are no prototypes to hand.
