Safety at the workplace

It’s important to know about safety at the workplace. Here are some definitions in English.

• Infect – To spread germs that cause illness.

• Dehydrated – When your body does not have enough water.

• Alarm – A loud sound or signal that warns people of danger.

• Handrail – A bar you hold onto for support, usually on stairs or ramps.

• First aid kit – A box with basic medical supplies to treat small injuries.

• Evacuation – Leaving a building or area quickly and safely because of danger.

• First aid – The first help given to someone who is injured or suddenly ill.

• Repetitive strain injury (RSI) – An injury caused by doing the same movement again and again, like typing.

• Slip – To lose your footing and slide accidentally, often on a wet or smooth surface.

• Hygiene – Keeping yourself and your surroundings clean to stay healthy.
